Welcome to the Solway Coast National Landscape – the new name for this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Solway Coast, running along the northern shore of Cumbria, is one of the nation’s most celebrated landscapes. Designated and protected by UK law in 1964, it is one of 46 other National Landscapes in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Along with National Parks, the distinctive character and natural beauty of the landscape in these places make them some of the most special and cherished places in the whole country.

Respect local communities and their concerns, please be aware you may need to be prepared to make the necessary decision to turn around if the area or car park looks busy, or is full, and come another time.
Follow the Countryside Code and always – leave no trace of your visit and put litter in the bin or take it home, keep dog’s under effective control and pick up after them.
